GSFS is offered to graduates from universities in East, Southeast, and Central Asia to help them continue their studies at SNU. 1 to 4 students from various colleges of SNU, for a total number of every semester, are selected. Recipients are exempted from paying tuition for 2 to 4 academic years, and accommodation (in the Gwanak campus dormitory) is optional. Award decisions are based on the applicants’ academic achievements and potential, as well as their personal accomplishments. Records of past studies, a study plan, personal statement, and letters of recommendation and other achievement records, as well as specific qualifications such as language proficiency, are all taken into consideration. The appropriateness of an applicant’s academic goals and suitability of preparation for the proposed program of studies are also assessed. Interviews, examinations, and/or additional documents may be required from the applicant. The Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist the application and registration procedure.
