International Summer Institute

Welcome to SNU ISI

The International Summer Institute at Seoul National University (SNU ISI) offers an exceptional opportunity for students to study at Korea's most prestigious university and one of the leading universities in the world. ISI offers an intensive six-week summer program led by distinguished SNU and international faculty. Conducted completely in English, more than 35 courses are offered on a diverse range of academic fields as well as Korean cultural courses such as "Korean Language" and "Korean Arts and Crafts". Along with lectures, SNU ISI also offers its students opportunities to explore Korea's unique identity through customized field-trips and a number of extra-curricular activities offered throughout the duration of the program.

Credit Transfer

You may be able to transfer the academic credit you earn from SNU ISI towards your studies at your home institution. Credit transfer policies vary among different universities, so we advise you to check with your academic advisor before registering for SNU ISI courses to verify how the credits earned at SNU will be accepted by your home institution. Please note that SNU is not responsible for assessing how courses completed here will transfer to your home university.

Grading System

Grades are based on tests, assignments, attendance, and class participation. Grades will be available online within one month and transcripts mailed to students and their home institutions within 6 weeks from completion of the program. Please be advised that if you plan to graduate in the summer, transcripts from SNU may not reach your home institution in time.
